About Us
Classic Outfitters Vocational Skills Empowerment Initiatives (COVSEI)
COVSEI is a community-based organization founded in 2014 in Ssaza, Masaka, Uganda. We focus on helping youth overcome unemployment and poverty through practical, hands-on training.
We are registered under the Community-Based Organization (CBO) framework with Registration No. CA 7745. Our programs aim to address the challenges faced by young people in Masaka and surrounding areas, where limited job opportunities and high school dropout rates make it hard for youth to earn a living.
We believe that skills training is a powerful tool to break the cycle of poverty. Our approach combines technical training in trades like tailoring, knitting, catering, and hospitality with essential life skills and entrepreneurship education. This prepares graduates to start their own businesses, secure employment, and support their families and communities.
We operate from our training center at Kamugombwa-Ssaza, which is accredited by the Directorate of Industrial Training (DIT). Here, youth gain practical experience in real-world settings, creating products and services that meet community needs.
Our leadership team includes experienced professionals who are dedicated to equipping youth with skills that match market demands. Together, we work to build a strong foundation for sustainable community development driven by skilled, confident, and self-reliant youth.
